We are a warehouse, not a cafe but we do have a small retail store where we can help you pick out green coffee and home roasting equipment in person. It is best to check out our website first because although all items are availabe for sale, we don’t have everything on display. Order online for pick-up and we will email you when your order is ready.

Ordering Policies

Cookies: Our site requires that your browser accepts cookies in order to track the contents of your shopping cart while you browse. We do not use cookies to collect browser information and we do not share any customer information with anybody… ever!

Payment Methods: We accept Paypal, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

Pick-up Orders NOT AVAILABLE. Please see our Covid-19 updates here. (Orders placed online for pick up at our Oakland CA. retail location): If you are local and want to pick up your order at our retail store, choose the shipping option “pick up” at check out. Your order will be ready the next business day after 10am. Our store is located at 2823 Adeline Street, Oakland, CA 94608. Same-day orders can be placed in-person at our store, 20 lb bags are not available for same-day pick-up as they are hand filled to order. We hold pick-up orders for two weeks.

Taxes: California residents only: Coffee is “food”, and food items are not taxed in California. Merchandise is taxable 7.25% statewide. If you live in Alameda County, where our shop is located, the tax rate is 9.25%.

Order Delays: If your order is delayed, we will email you to verify your shipping information or to inform you of an item you purchased unexpectedly going out of stock.

We ship 5 days a week (M-F). Orders placed on Fridays or weekends will ship the following Monday.
Sweet Maria’s UPS Ground Shipping Special offers discounted shipping on UPS Ground on orders up to 60 lb to any address in the continental US (no AK, HI or APO/FPOs).

0 – 20 lb = $8.99
21 – 40 lb = $14.99
41 – 60 lb = $21.99

Order Processing

In certain circumstances we may need to contact you with questions regarding your order. For instance most high priced items ($200 or more) require a fraud check. In these situations we will hold your order until we hear from you. Be sure to provide correct and current contact information when you order in case we have questions about your order.

Please note that we reserve the right to cancel orders at our discretion.

UPS:

Transit times

We are usually ship orders within 1-3 business days, however this is not always possible. Allow extra time for 20 lb bags, as they are hand filled to order. Orders with expedited shipping ship the next business day.
If you need your package by a certain date, choose 2nd Day or Next Day Air. These are the only options with a guaranteed timeline. 3 Day Select is expedited but the time-in-transit is not guaranteed. UPS does not count the pick up day as Time-in-Transit. A package shipped via UPS Next Day Air on Fri. will arrive on Mon. (except for holidays). Include your suite or apartment number since UPS charges extra fees if this information is missing or invalid.
UPS charges for “dimensional weight” on air orders – If the box is light and bulky there may be an extra fee. Packages need a street address – no PO Boxes. Incorrect addresses can delay shipping. UPS charges $15-$30 to make address changes. UPS also charges to reschedule delivery.

I live in CA. How much tax will I be charged?dot

California residents only: Coffee is food, and carry-out food items are not taxed in California. But merchandise is taxable 7.25% statewide. If you live in Alameda County, where our shop is located, the district tax rate is 9.25%.

Is your office dog friendly?dot

Yes. We love dogs but keep in mind we sometimes have a few of our own hanging out in other rooms so they might woof at you or your pup from behind closed doors if they get a whiff of your dog and want to play.

Is my personal info secure when I order from you?dot

We do not sell, trade, or share customer information or mailing list subscriber information with anyone…EVER! Our shopping cart does not store credit card information. It only stores your name, address, phone number, etc. Please email Tom at tom@sweetmarias.com if you have any concerns.
